Daily Responsibilities:
Greeting visitors is your #1 priority. Please be sensitive to the needs of each visitor. Some may be very social, while others may wish to be left alone.

Find out if the visitor is an artist. If so, offer him/her an entry form application.
Give them a brief history: The Central California Art League was established in 1951. We were granted non-profit public benefit status in 1987. We moved from the basement of the McHenry Museum to J Street in 2004. The name was changed to Central California Art Association and Mistlin Gallery.
Answering the phones
Greet the caller with "Mistlin Gallery, (your name) speaking".
IF the caller has a question that you can not answer or wants to speak to the director, get as much information as you can before turning the call over to the director in attendance. Please use the hold button if you need to announce the caller or to leave the desk temporarily.
Ring up customers purchases.
Keep the Gallery clean and tidy.
Keep a running tally of all visitors for the day.

Gallery rental agreements are available at the gallery or by contacting ArtCenter@ccArtAssn.org The agreements include detailed guidelines and rules in regards to hours, insurance, security, equipment, etc.
Basic info for interested parties:
Rental is $500.00, or $250.00 for non-profit organizations. A charge of $100.00 will be added for each half-hour the renter remains in the gallery past the agreed upon end time.
The contract must be signed and turned in to the Gallery Director 10 days prior to the event.
All prep work must occur within the hours specified in the contract.
There must be one adult for every two children. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Renter must provide adequate proof of insurance for $1,000,000.00 combined single limit for damages at least 20 days prior to the rental date. The gallery is not liable for loss, damage, or injury to persons or property belonging either to the renters or others in connection with, or growing out of, or arising directly or indirectly from the renter’s use of the premises.
A staff person will be on hand during events to assure that the gallery is not misused, however, the staff will not be available to accept deliveries or for event coordination. All preparations must be made by the renter.
The gallery has a 120 person standing room capacity, including food and beverage tables. Studio I and Studio Rooms can accommodate 60 people with open standing room.
Catering is allowed, however we do not have cooking facilities available. All garbage must be disposed by the renter in bags provided by the renter.
A California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control alcoholic beverage license must be obtained in order to serve alcoholic beverages.
Photography and video equipment are permitted.

ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to all artists, in all media, 18 years of age or older, who are residents of Central or Northern California.
IMAGE ENTRY PROCEDURE
All entries must be submitted as photographs or as JPEG image files on CD. Glass Slide entries, zip disks, and floppy disks will not be accepted. Photographs and CDs should be clearly marked with complete contact information.
Please include a filled out prospectus, which includes an entry form, image list, and artist's statement along with a copy of your resume and your $50.00, nonrefundable entry fee. Checks should be written out to: The Central California Art Association.
If you wish for your slides or CD to be returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your entry packet.

SIZE AND FRAME LIMITATION
Artwork cannot exceed 60 inches in width or 72 inches in height nor weigh more than 50 pounds. Exceptions may be made for works that can be installed in manageable sections or by other prearranged means.
DEADLINES
Slides are reviewed on a monthly basis by the CCAA Advisory Committee. The gallery welcomes art from emerging as well as established artists.
SHOW SCHEDULING AND DELIVERY
If your work is accepted for a show, you will be contacted to make further arrangements. The exhibits run for approximately 4 to 8 weeks and may feature multiple artists in each show. Shows are usually scheduled 6 to 12 months ahead. A contract stating dates, times, printing of invitations, shared costs, reception plans, promotion, insurance, and other pertinent information will be discussed. All artwork will remain as placed during installation. No work may be withdrawn before the last date of the exhibit. All work must be hand delivered to the Mistlin Gallery unless other arrangements are made beforehand with the Gallery Director.
CONDITIONS AND LIABILITIES
The CCAA shall not be responsible for loss or damage to any artwork submitted, and all works submitted and received are subject to this condition. The submission of entries to this show gallery shall be understood to constitute an agreement on the part of the Artist to the conditions as set forth in the prospectus. SALES
The CCAA will charge a commission of 40% on the sales of all work. All artwork must be for sale. Artists will set prices for their works.
